Ever recorded straight to DVD? Ever even heard of such a thing? Well our good friend and former station manager, James Westaway, permitted us access to Channel 24’s state-of-the-art 1996 studio, complete with three 480p cameras and real-time editing bay. The studio is a public access dream, filled with fanciful props, grid-lighting, a DMX dimmer board. It was truly a privilege to shoot here. Thanks James!

Joshua Gary controlled the monitor switch board, making every edit in real-time. Meanwhile, we would shout directions to Justin and Lucas who were operating two of the three cameras, “go to Decker camera 1, go to Danielle camera 2, Lucas, go to Danielle,” that kind of thing. The sound board was a complete mess for Tony, nothing we could do about it under the circumstances, so what you hear is gritty and raw public access quality.
